The Bugatti Chiron's tite of hitting 0-400-0 kmph in 42.96 seconds could barely last a month as Koenigsegg has managed to do the same, only about six seconds faster, on a Sunday and not even with its fastest car. The whole point of records is that they are meant to be broken. It's the kind of motivation that makes the most competitive of us to step up the game for others. So, when the Bugatti Chiron went from 0-400-0 kmph in 41.96 seconds last month, all eyes were set on which car would manage to top this. That's some incredible feat anyway! However, little did Bugatti know that Swedish carmaker Koenigsegg, which broke the record earlier this week with the Koenigsegg Agera RS performing the same feat in 36.44 seconds, 5.5 seconds fewer than what Bugatti needed. Koenigsegg test driver Niklas Lilja managed to achieve the incredible feat and the record was broken at an airfield in Vandel, Denmark. Not only was the Koenigsegg Agera RS faster across in the overall acceleration and braking time, it also hit 0-400 kmph in less time than the Bugatti - 26.88 seconds versus 32.6 seconds. While you may think it was the automaker's idea to belittle Volkswagen's most priced offering; Koenigsegg says the run was made at the request of the car's owner who wanted to benchmark it against other hypercars. (Koenigsegg Agera RS makes 1360 bhp with the optional pack and 1370 Nm of torque) Interestingly, Koenigsegg Agera RS isn't the company fastest offering. That would go to the One:1. Nevertheless, the Agera RS is an absolute beast that draws power from a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. Regera is Swedish for "To Reign", and this new record extends that reign even further. The performance of the Regera has been proven over the years on the road and on the track with several lap, acceleration, and braking records, and now it has again broken the 0-400-0 km/h and 0-250-0 mph records for the second time, managing this ultimate test of acceleration, speed, and braking in an astonishing 28.81 seconds for km/h and 29.60 for mph. Previously, the most famous record was the 2019 0-400-0 km/h record at 31.49 seconds, which beat Koenigsegg’s 2017 0-400-0 km/h record that was set by the Agera RS at 33.29 seconds. So, why set these new records with a car that is long off the production line? Because it can! Because it is still the King reigning supreme in today’s super competitive automotive landscape, and that is something that should be celebrated with a new record. The Regera was conceived and engineered ten years ago and is still unbeatable, but how can the Regera be faster today than it was 4 years ago? The Koenigsegg Agera RS driven by Niklas Lilja achieves a new world record top speed for a road-legal production vehicle. High speed runs were conducted on a closed section of US Highway 160 near Pahrump, Nevada, on November 4th 2017. Runs were made in both directions to compensate for any variation in topography and prevailing wind. The Agera RS achieved a new top speed record for a production vehicle, being 446.97 km/h (277.87 mph) when averaged out over both runs. All vehicle data was recorded independently by Racelogic and the film above is taken directly from the Racelogic system, with data overlaid for video presentation.

Koenigsegg Norway also enjoyed this great event with their Official Test Car 7031 Streetfighter and the World Record Car Agera R. When the awesome 1115 HP Koenigsegg Agera R passed the pit lane on Döttinger Höhe on Thursday everyone was amazed by the speed of the car. Using the whole 3.5 kilometer straight, the Koenigsegg logged a "quite impressive" 401.6 km/h before braking before the bridge at Tiergarten. The Agera R has a normal Koenigsegg road setup, was driven on 98 oktan fuel and on standard Michelin Pilot tires. It's not every day you find yourself driving a Koenigsegg Agera RS, let alone in a convoy with two more on the way to lunch at Hooters! Thanks to 🤍dan_am_I, I find myself at the wheel of the fastest car in the world, for an outing that doesn't feel real in the slightest. Come along for the ride to join me for the experience of a lifetime! Kicking off from the mancave of 🤍speedy_jeff, we line up the Koenigseggs, where on display we have the Agera RS Draken I'll be driving, as well as two further Agera RS models; 🤍speedy_jeff's Valhall and 🤍shinmikeyin's Phoenix. Then in addition are also both of the Agera Final Editions; 🤍x_marc_the_spot's Vader and 🤍dan_am_i's Thor as well as 🤍speedy_jeff's CCX too that's currently having the Ghost Package upgrades. The Koenigsegg Agera RS Draken is one of the 25 cars, that are holding the title of being the fastest car in the world with a top speed of 277.9mph performed in late 2017 in Nevada. That comes thanks to 1MW of power; or 1,360ps/1,341bhp from the 5.0l TT V8 and a lightweight carbon fibre construction mixed with a maximum of 485kg of downforce in the normal specification at 155mph/250km/h. Following the various models of the Agera, including Agera S, Agera R, One:1, then the Agera RS was only followed by the two Agera FEs based on the platform. To have technically 5 of the 27 cars all present together is just something incredible to behold, to drive one of them in convoy with 2 others is even more so. After meeting up at the mancave, it's time to get the cars ready to head on out where we go for a drive over towards Hooters to have lunch! Onboard the Draken it feels unbelievable to be looking at the two other Koenigseggs on the road in convoy as we make our way there, while getting a small taster for what the car can offer. The Evolution of Koenigsegg from 1996 to 2024. The company was founded in 1994 in Sweden by Christian von Koenigsegg, with the intention of producing a "world-class" sports car. Many years of development and testing led to the CC8S, the company's first street-legal production car which was introduced in 2002. In 2006, Koenigsegg began production of the CCX, which uses an engine created in-house specifically for the car. The goal was to develop a car homologated for use worldwide, particularly the United States whose strict regulations did not allow the import of earlier Koenigsegg models. In March 2009, the CCXR was listed by Forbes as one of "the world's most beautiful cars". In December 2010, the Agera won the BBC Top Gear Hypercar of the Year Award. Apart from developing, manufacturing and selling the Koenigsegg line of sports cars, Koenigsegg is also involved in "green technology" development programmes beginning with the CCXR ("Flower Power") flex-fuel sports car and continuing through the present with the Jesko. Koenigsegg is also active in development programs of plug-in electric cars' systems and next-generation reciprocating engine technologies. Koenigsegg has also developed a camless piston engine which found its first application in the Gemera, which was introduced in 2020. Koenigsegg develops and produces most of the main systems, subsystems and components needed for their cars in-house instead of relying on subcontractors. In January 2019, Koenigsegg sold a 20% stake in the company to Swedish electric car manufacturer (Egstrand & Lundgren), National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), for US$171 million. Koenigsegg has since then bought the stake back from NEVS and owns 100% of the company again.
