Both the PS5 RDNA 2 and Xbox RDNA 2 tech have been touted since the consoles were revealed with Xbox aligning with AMD early on and getting the word out that they have exclusive RDNA 2 technology that the PS5 does not have. AMD's Radeon RX 6700 XT Stock is BAD, we also discuss why Radeon RDNA 2 AIB Cards Are So Expensive to Buy thanks to decisions made by AIBs. The Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB (designed to go toe-to-toe with Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3060 Ti) will be shown off by AMD on March 3rd, and is based on the Navi 22 silicon. This GPU has been rumored for a long time and features 40 Compute Units with a 192-bit bus and 12GB RAM. The graphics card though will apparently be shown off alone, with the Radeon RX 6700 not to debut alongside it, which is a reduced specs video card featuring just 36 Compute Units and 6GB RAM. According to a report, the availability of the Radeon RX 6700 XT though will be dreadful, with France recieving just about 100 reference cards, and a similar number of custom AIB cards. Also, Nvidia's Hopper architecture will have big changes for its CUDA cores and SMs, with a more amd-like design seen in the Navi range of GPUs, where AMD switched to Dual-Compute Units (WGP). A couple of weeks ago at CES 2022, AMD unveiled their new lineup of GPU’s for laptops. In 2021 , AMD had their RX 6000M lineup which included the RX 6600M, RX 6700M and RX 6800M. All based on the same 7nm process and Navi dies that are found on the desktop platform. Specifically, Navi 22 and navi 23. For 2022, they introduced a new lineup of what we would consider refreshed GPU’s.one of the new lineups was dubbed the RX 6000S series. It was specifically optimized for better power efficiency, and more performance per watt. They built this model so we could have more GPU performance in slimmer laptops. Anyways, so why am I talking about this? Well, It looks like AMD isn’t done with this round of refreshes. According to a leaker over on the chiphell forum, and then corroborated by leaker extraordinaire Greymon 55, AMD is indeed bringing these new advancements to the desktop market. And they’re doing this pretty soon. These new Desktop cards are to be released in Q2 of 2022. the naming scheme would change by adding a 50 at the end and an XT where there isnt one. JOIN THE DISCORD! 🤍 AMD's current graphics card generation has been in a really tough. RDNA 3, if you look at the performance, is barely any better than RDNA 2. Which is possibly why AMD is struggling to compete especially against Nvidia's Ada Lovelace architecture, which (besides pricing/naming) does have significant performance increases over 3000 series (Ampere). It seems like AMD's 7000 series of GPUs is a failed generation, however there is hope that it will work out down the line.
